Of all weekends, Red Bull chose this one to attempt to stifle what remains of true fan culture in Salzburg. The announcement of the firm’s intention to cover the only remaining terrace in the stadium with red and blue seats effectively removes the soapboxes for those who protest against wholesale changes made to their club.

The Aktionswochenende, called by supporters of Austria Salzburg to demonstrate the strength of solidarity for the Initiative Violett-Weiss’ cause, impressed in the breadth of support from clued-up fans across the continent.
