Austria Salzburg’s tightly-knit community has been rocked by the tragic death of one of their young members during a coach trip to watch Borussia Dortmund.

After a joyous weekend in the company of their German hosts, 19 year-old Gerhard Weiss was left behind by the 50-strong party at motorway services.

Upon their return to collect him, police informed them that he had been involved in a fatal road accident; a terrible end to what had been an invigorating occasion.
