Burning ambition
Running your own football club ain’t exactly a bed of violets. Alongside their considerable feats, Austria Salzburg’s custodians have endured avarice, bereavement and have recently been faced once again by the threat of the cold shoulder as the local University’s long term plans to redevelop their present ground come to fruition next summer.

Mere tenants at the picturesque setting beneath the city’s iconic mountaintop castle, the famous upstarts may struggle to find themselves a home capable of housing their enviable support for the lengthy construction period.
In other words, inconvenience lay just over the horizon. Until yesterday afternoon, that is, when a blaze took hold of the main stand and left its wooden structure distinctly worse off.
Police suspect local youths were responsible for an act of arson which plunges the immediate future of the side sitting atop the country’s 7th tier once more into turmoil.
With their season due to recommence in March, fans of Austria Salzburg are hoping that both short and long-term solutions can be found to their housing crisis.
