TO THE Parc des Princes they had trekked via air, land and sea: at least 8,000 Leeds United fans in Paris with the Tribune Boulogne’s grey concrete beneath their feet.

Within a few hours its red and blue plastic seats would litter the turf before them, but as their heroes strolled the field in matching John Temple suits, spirits were soaring. “WE’VE COME FER T’CUP!” exclaimed one banner, and the scene was set for Leeds United to take the European Cup from Bayern Munich on May 28th 1975.

For those in attendance, plus a UK television audience of 24.2 million, that evening’s descent into gloom is well-documented – but never before like this arresting fan-shot cine film from YouTuber TheRenraw.
